Getting to Know Longarm Quilting: Introductory Class March 2025

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to longarm quilt, this class series is for you! Get to know the process and basics of longarm quilting from our two, in-house quilting experts. Angela and Lance will explain how longarm quilting differs from the home machine quilting to which you may be more accustomed.

Topics range from best practices for longarm quilting, to different types of longarmming (free motion, edge to edge, etc.), and to the basics of thread, needle, batting, tension, and more.

Angela will introduce the Baby Lock Regalia while Lance will focus on the Bernina Q Series.

This lecture-style class is a prerequisite for the Longarm Quilting Certification classes required prior to rental of Decorative Stitch’s longarm machines. After completion, if you decide to enroll in the certification class, you will choose whether you would like to be certified on the Baby Lock or Bernina machine, as well as whether you’d like to focus on free motion quilting or computerized edge to edge quilting.
